  • Ridge Preservation — bone grafting at the time of extraction to maintain bone volume for a future implant.

What to Expect After Oral Surgery

Most oral surgery procedures are performed under local anesthesia and are less uncomfortable than patients expect. After surgery, you will receive detailed aftercare instructions. Mild swelling and discomfort are normal for 24 to 48 hours and are manageable with over-the-counter pain medication. Most patients return to normal activities within 2 to 3 days.

For dental implants specifically, the healing period (osseointegration) takes 3 to 6 months, during which a temporary restoration protects the site. Our team monitors healing closely, and Dr. Rita places the permanent crown or bridge once the implant has fully integrated with the bone.

Oral Surgery & Implants FAQ

Is dental implant surgery painful?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is typically painless. Most patients report the experience is more comfortable than they expected. Post-operative discomfort is mild and short-lived.

Do wisdom teeth always need to be removed?

No. Removal is recommended only when wisdom teeth are impacted, causing pain, crowding other teeth, or are difficult to clean. If they are correctly positioned and maintainable, they can stay. A panoramic X-ray during your consultation will guide the recommendation.

How much do dental implants cost in Lebanon?

Lebanon offers implant treatment at significantly lower cost than Europe, North America, and the Gulf for equivalent quality. The exact cost depends on the number of implants, bone grafting needs, and restoration type. See our dental implants page for details or contact us for a personalized estimate.

How long does a dental implant take from start to finish?

The full process typically takes 3-6 months. After implant placement, a healing period of 2-4 months is needed for the implant to fuse with the bone (osseointegration) before the final crown is placed.

Can I get dental implants if I have bone loss?

In many cases, yes. Bone grafting procedures can rebuild lost jawbone to support implants. Our surgical team at Lebanon Dental Studio will assess your bone density with 3D imaging and recommend the best approach.
